Program Organizations
AmeriCorps Maine and Maine Campus Compact (MCC) partnered to bring the Maine Partnership for Environmental Stewardship (MPES) Initiative to Maine. By working together AmeriCorps was able to provide the MPES team members and program funding, while Maine Campus Compact established connection with the 6 non-profit higher education institutions in the state of Maine to be the MPES teams' host site.
Unity College partnered with the two organizations to be a host site for one of the MPES teams. Through their partnership the Unity Community is given the opportunity to participate in and benefit from the MPES program energy efficiency and weatherization cost savings initiative.
WindowDressers has partnered with the MPES initiative to provide the window inserts for participating home. Being a local community-based organization they are able to make quality inserts for Maine homes while also maintaining affordable rates for both low-income and non-low-income renters and homeowners.
Efficiency Maine has partnered with MPES to provide the energy efficient products (LED light bulbs, Low Flow Kitchen Aerators, Low Flow Bathroom Aerators, and Low Flow Shower Heads) for low-income homes participating in our Green Certification Audit initiative. Being the "independent administrator for energy efficiency programs in Maine", participating homes must sign a statement confirming their low-income status.
The Maine Commission for Community Service provides AmeriCorps Maine with the federal funds needed for the program.
